A feeling is similar to a thought but a feeling contains a certain load. A thought does not necessarily lead to behavior. The stronger the feeling the greater the chance one will react. Feelings are always either pleasant or unpleasant, attract or resist. Feelings give thoughts the energy to act by other preventing the feeling or creating more. Like thoughts, feelings also want to get my attention. Once I have given attention to a feeling, the feeling becomes less compulsive.

Feelings create attachments. When I like something, I want more and I want it more often. When I don't like something, I want to get rid of it and I want to prevent this from happening again. Both attachments are logical but they drag me away from simply being, staying calm and simply exist. Attachments make me restless and unhappy if I don't watch out.
